New Speed Limit Signs Require Drivers To Go A Certain Speed

Acknowledging that they would represent a radical departure from what currently lines Washington roadways, state transportation officials Friday unveiled new speed limit signs that would require drivers to go a certain speed.

“We know this is pretty drastic, but the bottom line is that we are substantially changing how our speed limit signs work from here on out — completely different than how they operate right now,” said WSDOT representative, William Butler, adding he expects that after an initial adjustment period, area drivers should be pretty happy about the changes.

“It’s our big hope that these updated and improved signs will positively impact the way drivers travel down our roadways.”

Butler went on to say that local drivers should stay tuned for more innovative improvements to Washington’s transportation infrastructure.
